A native of Florida, Captain Kirk has fished these coastal waters most of his life. Growing up in Southwest Florida he learned his techniques while fishing for Red Fish, Snook, Trout, Bone Fish and Permit in the bays, harbors and inland waterways of Miami.
In 1998, Captain Kirk gained employment with the North Fort Myers Fire Department, which brought him to the West Coast of Florida. After a couple of years of fishing and learning the waters, Kirk decided to fish professionally, and West Coast Fishing Charters was established.
Captain Kirk is well known for his technique, patience and ability to teach even the youngest of fishermen. He is asked to be a guest speaker at many boat shows, sport shows and training camps each year. He has made guest appearances on several top fishing programs, such as - TNN Great Outdoors, Young America Outdoors, Sunshine Network, etc. and for a 3 year stretch was the host of the Tech-Know Angler TV fishing show. Captain Kirk has donated his time, knowledge and efforts throughout the years with several charitable organizations such as the Veterans of War, Big Brothers Big Sisters as well as international organizations like The Make A Wish Foundation, just to name a few.
Captain Kirk currently specializes in the targeting and catching of all species of fish that are indigenous to the West Coast of Florida. While on the water he takes pride in his craft by using top of the line equipment which consists of his 24 foot Pathfinder flats boat, Yamaha 250 motor and a full array of Shakespeare rods and reels.
